Welcome to the JnUMCS,
Law schools are meant to produce good legal professionals. It indeed requires a robust combination of both theoretical and practical approaches to learning. However, in the absence of proper orientation to practical legal skills most of our law graduates fail to fulfill the expectations of our legal employers. Mooting serves this purpose of practical learning in a meaningful and constructive manner.
It is true that mooting makes legal studies interesting and exciting. Here students learn to apply their legal knowledge to solve complex legal problems. It helps students of law to build confidence in public speaking and develop the basic skills of legal research. Needless to mention, mooting experience can benefit every law student whether or not they plan to pursue a traditional legal career.
Jagannath University Moot Court Society (JnUMCS) aims to facilitate students of law in learning and streamlining the art and skills of mooting through various activities including workshops, seminars, training programs etc. The society will also take initiatives to arrange moot court competitions on different branches of law. In addition, the society will strive to work in collaboration with other law schools to share and exchange knowledge and expertise of mooting.
I encourage the interested students of JnU Law Faculty to avail this wonderful opportunity to join JnUMCS, and work together to hone their professional legal skills.
